Simply lovely experience. Beautuful breezy hall where you get served fresh tea and scones amongst a few other delectables. The natural breeze flowing through the food hall with its polished wood floors and french windows looking far out onto the plantation fields ...it was SO relaxing. We even saw tree kangaroos!
Scone with jam and cream was nice, staff we're friendly, but hamburger was just lukewarm, was only very thin and took them about 20 mins to make it even though we were the only ones there, only a very small selection of food as well so I didn't get anything for me (fella got $10 Burger). Saw 2 tree kangaroos - one in the row of trees alongside road in the fenced off conservation area and one in the row of trees outside the cafe. I probably won't go back here
The tea farm is great! A big field of green is beautiful! The factory is a bit disappointed, it is not working and no staff there to introduce the tea production process. We didnt see any tree-roos.Tea and food were ok, but staff was dispassionate.Free entry, reasonable cost for gift shop and cafe, it is still a good visit!
Interesting place though somewhat surreal. Not functioning when we visited, so the full value of this experience may have been missed. The "self guided tour" is a small platform deck overlooking the factory processing area and is not interactive. The highlight was seeing the tree kangaroos in the tree tops. Whatever you do don't ask for coffee! They seemed offended. While this seems to make sense, as it is a tree plantation, when people come to your facility in the middle of nowhere and ask for a coffee, don't be offended, they came a long way to see your facility! The old adage "the customer is always right" would help here, there are other drinks than tea. The large "tearoom" (can't say cafe), was empty, this may explain why......
Have been drinking this tea for so many years so it was great to see where it is made. However, while the scones and tea were nice it was a little disappointing to be honest. I expected a little more of an elegant tearoom with more ambience. It was a bland tiles room with a good view of plantation but could be so much more.
